Once again I find myself hanging out in Europe, specifically Paris. As many of you are undoubtedly aware I will be teaching English in France for the next 7 months and where better for that journey to begin other than the most famous French city. After finishing my first day I can already tell a few things haven't changed. For starters, (1)airport difficulty. No journey could possibly begin without it, or none of mine at least. But because I'm tired of giving dysfunctional planes attention I think it will suffice to say that the air circulation went awall and we had to turn the plane around and fetch another. Anyway... Sitting for hours on the plane and in the airport made me antsy to get up and move around. (2)However, by the end of the day my feet kindly reminded me how much unnecessary walking takes place over the course of my day(In Europe). Not that I consider walking unnecessary. Au contraire, I love walking! Just not when I'm forced into speed walking all around Paris with no destination in mind, no chance to use that wonderful resource 'le metro', and no opportunity to enjoy the scenery. Although in Nick's defense he is trying to slow down a bit. And in order to shorten this story up a bit I will list off the last 3 ways in which Europe is still as I remember it...
1) Mara's kitchen sink smells the exact same as my sink did in Italy
2) Europeans still prefer to call me "Kim" because they have a hard time saying Brooke
3) And last but certainly not least, At the end of the night I somehow manage to be locked out of an apartment
Over all... Much more successful than last time. And I even have a couple of pictures that I snapped with my iPhone.
à bientôt
Brooke
