I woke up monday feeling awful: nauseous, sore throat, possible fever. I went to work anyway, only to find out that 30+ students were out sick that day with the stomach flu. Awesome. I don't panic though, it could pass.
Tuesday, still feeling under the weather. A colleague helps me schedule a doctors appointment for Wednesday.
Wednesday, I wait more than an hour to see the doctor. And while I'm impatiently waiting I have snot running down my nose and there isn't a single box of kleenex in the waiting room. "What kind of doctor doesn't have kleenex in his office?", I ask. Nick responds, "A socialist one." Great. The lady next to me asks what time my appointment is for. I tell her 17h15 and she tells me hers is for 17h30. The doctor calls her name before mine. I got up and left.
Thursday, feeling a little better. I go back to work and tell the teachers about my unsuccessful doctor's visit. They help me schedule another. I'm even more skeptic about this appointment because the secretary told my colleague, who was making the appointment, that they aren't accepting new patients. He gets me an appointment anyway. We'll see how it goes. I talk to the school nurse and even though I feel better and have taken lots of medicine, I still have a fever.
Friday, I didn't sleep very well last night. I felt nauseous, weak and dizzy all night. I called in sick to work and text my friends to let them know I can't go on our WWOOF-ing trip. Which I have been looking forward to for 2 weeks now. Now I can't wait for that doctor's visit. Hopefully I won't have to wait long.
On another note, I found ramen noodles at the grocery store. These things exist everywhere.
